CIS hosts Distinguished Lecture Series

Submitted by on February 27, 2012 – 7:17 pmNo Comment

Leading authorities in the field of computer and information science will present on campus during the Winter 2012 CIS Distinguished Lecture Series. Lectures will take place throughout the month of March.

College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) Associate Professor Habib Ammari began the Distinguished Lecture Series as a way to create dialogue about current research and promote the Department of Computer and Information Science (CIS) to a broader audience.

“We want to foster research and give faculty and students access to what is happening in the field,” Ammari said.

The series is open to the campus community and the pubic. Ammari hopes representatives from across campus will support the new event.

“Our goal is that the lecture series will inspire students from all academic backgrounds to engage in more research and to be aware of topics in their fields,” he said.

Lectures take place from 11 a.m.-noon in BorgWarner Auditorium.
