Kudos: Promotions and tenure

The U-M Regents approved promotions for 14 UM-Dearborn faculty members at their May meeting. The faculty members receiving promotions are Suzanne Bergeron, Jun He, Martin Hershock, Georgina Hickey, Yung-Wen Liu, Brian McKenna, Chunting (Chris) Mi, Deborah Smith Pollard, Margaret Rathouz, Juliette Roddy, Mitchel Sollenberger, Karen Thomas-Brown, Dale Thomson and Shengquan Wang.

College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters
Bergeron, associate professor of women’s studies, with tenure, and associate professor of social sciences, with tenure, was promoted to professor of women’s studies, with tenure, and professor of social sciences, with tenure, in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Hershock, associate professor of history, with tenure, was promoted to professor of history, with tenure, in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Hickey, associate professor of history, with tenure, was promoted to professor of history, with tenure, in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

McKenna, assistant professor of anthropology, was promoted to assiciate professor of anthropology, with tenure, in the Department of Behavioral Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Rathouz, assistant professor of mathematics education, was promoted to associate professor of mathematics education, with tenure, in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Roddy, assistant professor of public policy, was promoted to associate professor of public policy, with tenure, in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Smith Pollard, associate professor of English literature and humanities, with tenure, was promoted to professor of English literature and humanities, with tenure, in the Department of Literature, Philosophy, and the Arts in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Sollenberger, assistant professor of political science, was promoted to associate professor of political science, with tenure, in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

Thomson, assistant professor of political science, was promoted to associate professor of political science, with tenure, in the Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.

College of Business
He, assistant professor of management studies, was promoted to associate professor of management studies, with tenure, in the Department of Management Studies in the College of Business.

College of Engineering and Computer Science
Liu, assistant professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, was promoted to associate professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, with tenure, in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Mi, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, with tenure, was promoted to professor of electrical and computer engineering, with tenure, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Wang, assistant professor of computer and information science, was promoted to associate professor of computer and information science, with tenure, in the Department of Information and Computer Science in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

School of Education
Thomas-Brown, assistant professor of education, was promoted to associate professor of education, with tenure, in the School of Education.
