Macari named hockey All-American for fourth time
Most athletes only dream of being named an All-American.
Michael Macari, a recent University of Michigan-Dearborn graduate, stopped dreaming after his freshman year. The hockey star was named a first-team All-American his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.
So why break precedent? Macari capped his collegiate career with again being named a first-team All-American.
“I know it’s an individual award, but I had a lot of good players around me,” he said. “That made me a better player.”
Macari led the Wolves with 70 points last season, netting 25 goals and 45 assists. He finished his UM-Dearborn career with 143 goals and 169 assists.
And to add to his accolades, he also was named an Academic All-American for his excellence in the classroom.
